About the Role
Green Start Management Consultancy is seeking a seasoned Test Manager to lead quality engineering and testing initiatives within a major retail banking transformation project based in Doha, Qatar. This role demands extensive expertise in retail and Islamic banking domains, with a strong focus on managing end-to-end testing processes for core banking and associated systems.
Key Experience and Expertise
- Over 12 years in software testing and quality engineering.
- Proven leadership managing large banking programs and dispersed teams.
- Experience overseeing testing across multiple vendors, platforms, and delivery partners.
- Proficient in structured testing methodologies, governance, quality assurance, and quality gates.
- Subject matter knowledge in core banking systems, Islamic banking products, retail, corporate, SME and wealth banking segments.
- Expertise in digital and branch channels, cards, merchant services, payment platforms, trade finance, and treasury services.
- Strong command of Agile methodologies, DevSecOps principles, and continuous delivery practices.
- Competent in applying artificial intelligence for optimizing test design, automation, defect analytics, data validation, and reporting, emphasizing measurable benefits.
- Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders, suppliers, and executive leadership effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own test strategies, governance frameworks, and delivery plans for assigned program portfolios.
- Lead comprehensive testing initiatives spanning core banking, Islamic banking products, digital and branch channels, card and payment systems, and ancillary applications.
- Define clear criteria for testing phases, including entry/exit, quality gates, risk-based coverage, and traceability.
- Coordinate collaboration among business units, technology teams, vendors, and system integrators.
- Champion automation and continuous testing integrated within Agile and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Manage defect lifecycle, dependencies, risk identification, and remediation efforts through to resolution.
- Deliver quality, risk, and readiness reports to program and executive stakeholders.
- Introduce AI-driven testing solutions where they demonstrably enhance quality, efficiency, coverage, or reduce costs with controlled implementation.
- Ensure testing processes comply with security, regulatory, Sharia law, audit, and operational resilience standards.
- Develop internal quality engineering capabilities to decrease reliance on external vendors over time.
Ideal Profile
The perfect candidate will have hands-on experience managing test operations within a large financial institution undergoing core, digital, or enterprise transformation projects, particularly in the Middle East. Familiarity with Islamic banking principles and domain-specific nuances is mandatory. The candidate should balance strict program oversight with collaborative cross-functional team management.
