Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Doha, Qatar, specializing in contract and commercial management for construction projects, notably with Ashghal infrastructure experience. This role focuses on thorough pre-contract management, risk assessment, and cost control aligned with company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reviews and analyses of tender documents, drawings, and specifications to detect commercial and contractual risks.
- Prepare, finalize, and manage contract agreements, requests for proposals (RFPs), invitations to tender (ITTs), addenda, and clarifications, ensuring alignment with organizational and client protocols.
- Perform cost estimations, commercial evaluations, and critically assess subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and value.
- Evaluate contractual risks to ensure adherence to company policies and client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, finance, and legal departments to produce comprehensive tender submissions.
- Participate actively in pre-tender meetings, clarification sessions, and negotiation processes involving clients and consultants.
- Support and contribute to value engineering efforts to optimize design effectiveness and cost efficiencies.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Holding MMUP certification is advantageous.
- Bring a minimum of 15 years of experience in contract and commercial management within the construction sector.
- Have at least 5 years’ experience specifically on Ashghal infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrate proven expertise in managing contracts based on FIDIC conditions and handling claims and disputes effectively.
- Exhibit strong negotiation capabilities and excellent communication skills.
- Be proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of construction laws and regulations applicable in Qatar.
