About LAB3 and the Opportunity

LAB3 is a prominent Azure engineering firm in Australasia, focusing on Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Security, and Networks. We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to be a key member of our Technology Team. The role involves developing internal platforms essential to LAB3's operations and delivering AI-enabled applications for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage software development end-to-end—from initial architecture design to production deployment and ongoing support—across frontend, backend, data layers, and Azure infrastructure.
• Create robust and maintainable React/TypeScript user interfaces, design well-structured APIs and backend services, develop intuitive data models, and execute reliable deployments.
• Incorporate AI technologies both in development processes and delivered products by leveraging agentic coding tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, and by integrating models, retrieval strategies, agents, evaluations, and operational guardrails into software releases.
• Deliver AI-enabled internal solutions and client-facing projects across LAB3's various platforms, including agent orchestration and financial operations tools.
• Collaborate extensively with consultants, architects, and clients to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical solutions and functional software.
• Maintain high engineering standards by mentoring team members, conducting thoughtful code reviews, balancing practical trade-offs, implementing thorough testing and observability, and owning operational responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

• At least five years of comprehensive full stack development experience encompassing modern frontend frameworks, backend APIs, relational databases, and cloud deployments.
• Proficiency with React/TypeScript for frontend, PostgreSQL for data storage, and Python for backend services, including production deployment and lifecycle management.
• Hands-on or demonstrable strong learning capability with Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Storage, Identity, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Active use of AI development tools in daily workflows, with proven experience delivering features or products integrating large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or intelligent agents.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills, with the ability to engage non-engineers and mentor junior developers effectively.
• Must be a resident with full employment rights in Australia or New Zealand.
