Senior Controller

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Controller to become a vital member of our Finance team, responsible for enhancing our financial governance by implementing reliable forecasting and controlling procedures, providing insightful data analysis, and facilitating strategic business decisions. Collaborating closely with the Head of Finance and various company stakeholders, this role supports the establishment of a scalable finance function to sustain our company's growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and manage corporate budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes to prepare for public market engagement and strategic decision-making.
• Create, supervise, and refine management reporting tools, KPI dashboards, and financial insights across all departments.
• Lead the execution of dual financial reporting standards (US GAAP & IFRS, HGB), working in concert with Finance, Accounting, and external consultants to build scalable reporting frameworks and ensure international compliance.
• Oversee controlling and management reporting within the dual reporting system, aligning variance analyses and forecasts across frameworks.
• Serve as the Finance team's specialist in IFRS and/or US GAAP, offering expert advice on reporting impacts, consolidation, and best practices.
• Support financial consolidation and group reporting activities involving international subsidiaries.
• Champion automation and digital transformation within Finance and Controlling to raise process efficiency, reporting quality, and scalability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver financial analyses, develop business cases, and provide recommendations for strategic projects and investments.
• Continuously refine finance processes, enforce internal controls, and elevate reporting standards to support an expanding international organization.

Candidate Profile

• Academic background in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in controlling, preferably within international MedTech, Life Sciences, or fast-growing technology environments.
• Deep practical expertise with HGB and IFRS or US GAAP, including dual reporting implementation, consolidation, and financial reporting.
• Knowledgeable in revenue recognition and experienced with accounting and capitalization of R&D and clinical development expenditures.
• Comprehensive understanding of international reporting standards and their application to controlling and reporting procedures.
• Proven skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, management reporting, and KPI formulation.
• Experience leading finance transformation initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, and digitalization.
• Strong analytical abilities with capacity to clearly communicate complex finance topics to diverse audiences.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate to Ulm or commit to at least monthly travel.
