Senior Application Support Engineer - Payments

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer specializing in payment platforms to provide both functional and technical support. The role involves managing Level 2 and 3 incidents, analyzing payment workflows, and overseeing platform monitoring. This position requires acting as a technical authority on payment systems, ensuring operational stability, adherence to SLAs, and effective collaboration with various stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance system performance continuously.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver functional and technical support for payment platforms, promptly resolving incidents and maintaining SLA compliance.
• Analyze and troubleshoot SWIFT messaging protocols including MT103, MT202, MT940, and MT950, as well as ISO 20022 standards.
• Manage the lifecycle of Docker containers, including starting, stopping, restarting, and deployment activities using Ansible Tower.
• Perform Unix/Linux administration, troubleshooting, and scripting tasks using Bash and Korn Shell.
• Administer and troubleshoot IBM MQ, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases efficiently.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and configure Splunk alerts for effective platform monitoring.
• Participate in change and release management processes, including deployment execution, preparing rollback plans, and performing post-deployment validations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate and resolve payment failures, rejections, duplicate transactions, and reconciliation discrepancies.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 5 years of experience in banking application support with an emphasis on payment systems.
• Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with international payment processing and SWIFT messaging standards.
• Proficiency in Docker container management, Unix/Linux system administration, IBM MQ, and database maintenance involving PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Strong command of advanced SQL, batch processing mechanisms, and file transfer methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities complemented by solid communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage work effectively under pressure, and adapt within a diverse, mission-critical environment.
