About the Role
Join GardaWorld's Security Services team in St. John's, Newfoundland as a Security Guard. This position demands flexibility and the capability to efficiently manage various tasks throughout the day, including customer service, monitoring, patrols, and surveillance. The work environment is dynamic, requiring adaptability and responsiveness to diverse security needs and events.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay of $17.00 along with comprehensive benefits
- Continuing education opportunities funded through the GardaWorld Academy
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday
- Shift options include 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM
- Uniforms provided at no cost

Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain security by actively monitoring premises
- Control and restrict after-hours access
- Perform mobile security patrols to detect suspicious behavior
- Operate vehicles within facility grounds
- Respond promptly to incidents or threats
- Handle emergency situations and notify appropriate parties
- Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents and activities
- Manage entry points and verify identifications
- Deliver high-quality customer service alongside security duties
- Collaborate with law enforcement during critical incidents
- Communicate effectively with city representatives and emergency services
Qualifications and Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Current first aid certification is mandatory
- Ability to react swiftly and adapt to unexpected situations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
