JBS Food Canada ULC is among the country’s major beef processors and operates several facilities across Alberta and Ontario. Its operations include a large processing site in Brooks, a head office and case-ready plant in Calgary, and a case-ready plant in Belleville, Ontario. The Belleville site produces fresh meat and seafood products for major Canadian retailers.

Role Overview

JBS Foods Ontario Inc. is hiring a full-time permanent Sanitor for its Belleville, Ontario facility. In this role, you will support the production of retail-ready fresh meat items such as beef, pork, veal, ground beef, and fresh sausage products as part of a sanitation team.

Key Duties

• Carry out sanitation tasks across production areas and equipment using hand scrubbing and hose work.
• Clean walls, floors, tables, hallways, and other production equipment.
• Work with chemicals, machinery, and production equipment in a fast-moving environment.
• Use required personal protective equipment supplied by the employer.
• Follow mandatory safety and food safety/GMP training requirements for the assignment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job involves working in different conditions such as wet, humid, hot, cold, indoor, and outdoor areas. The work area may include slippery floors and high noise levels. The position requires repetitive movement, handling heavy loads, standing for long periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and good hand-eye coordination. The role is physically demanding and performed in a refrigerated environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma is required.
• At least 1 to less than 7 months of full-time experience in a physically demanding role similar to food processing.
• Working understanding of production equipment.
• Willingness to learn safe and proper work methods before performing tasks.
• Ability to follow safe work practices and safety principles.
• Strong safety-minded attitude.
• Self-driven approach with ownership, accountability, and determination.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg and move sanitation equipment weighing over 50 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits
