Position Overview
We are seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician to join our client’s team onsite in Albany, NY, particularly working within a semiconductor fabrication cleanroom environment. This role involves actively promoting a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and fostering safe work habits in a high-tech manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine safety inspections in the semiconductor manufacturing cleanroom to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Log inspection results daily into designated computer systems to maintain up-to-date safety documentation.
- Coach and guide cleanroom personnel on safe working practices and protocols.
- Conduct safety orientation and training sessions for new employees to promote awareness of workplace safety policies.
- Assist in probing safety incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Serve as a resource for safety-related questions and concerns within the cleanroom environment.
- Participate actively in site safety committee meetings to contribute insights and improve safety strategy.
- Represent the company professionally to clients, vendors, and coworkers, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to exceptional safety service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Between six months and one year of professional experience in safety roles particularly within manufacturing, construction, industrial environments involving heavy machinery, or military positions related to mechanical or electrical tasks.
- Possession of OSHA 10+ certification or HAZWOPER certification.
- Ability to commute daily to the Albany, NY site.
- Capacity to successfully clear a drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
- Associate degree or higher in science or safety-related disciplines.
- Experience leading training sessions.
- Military background.
- Additional OSHA certifications or extensive experience in safety compliance.
Compensation and Terms
This is a full-time, onsite position with a 12-month contract initially, with the possibility of extensions or conversion to permanent status. Compensation starts at $25 per hour, with some flexibility based on years of experience.
