Robotics Researcher

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Robotics Researcher to join our remote team as a full-time Member of Technical Staff within our Robotics Lab. This role offers a significant compensation package ranging from $400,000 to $1,500,000 annually. The position is fully remote, providing flexibility while contributing to cutting-edge robotics research.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and unify standards for robotics data formats, schemas, and benchmarking to improve the utility and consistency of data.
• Innovate and develop new approaches for gathering data, including human demonstrations, teleoperation techniques, and sensor integration.
• Work collaboratively across diverse teams to ensure proper alignment on the data requirements for training robotic models.
• Assess datasets for their diversity, scalability, and overall impact to enhance learning efficiency in robotic systems.
• Create and test experimental prototypes and tools aimed at streamlining data acquisition processes.
• Keep abreast of the latest progress in leading robotics laboratories and incorporate best practices into internal methodologies.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of two years experience in robotics research and development, data engineering, or applied research.
• Strong understanding of robotics data pipelines and multimodal data schemas such as RGB-D (color and depth), IMU (inertial measurement units), pose estimation, and natural language.
• Experience in areas including robot perception, control systems, or data-driven learning frameworks.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Employment history at prominent robotics or AI companies is advantageous, as is familiarity with embodied AI datasets or imitation learning practices.
