About the Role
The Retail Project Manager will oversee and drive the execution of strategic retail projects, ensuring smooth transition from planning to implementation. Located in Beaverton, OR, this contract position lasts for one year, with a hybrid work structure requiring onsite presence Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end project execution for retail initiatives, collaborating with diverse teams including Retail, Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, Brand, Design, Operations, and Finance.
- Conduct regular project meetings, maintain comprehensive documentation, and ensure actionable follow-up.
- Develop detailed, integrated workback schedules outlining milestones, dependencies, and critical paths for several simultaneous projects.
- Monitor progress consistently, proactively address risks, update plans based on shifting priorities, and keep leadership informed.
- Implement strong project governance and communication protocols to maintain operational excellence.
- Track deliverables, deadlines, ownerships, and escalate challenges with recommended solutions.
- Prepare executive reports, dashboards, and status updates to communicate timelines, risks, and key dependencies effectively.
- Promote collaboration across global and regional teams to secure alignment and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Project Management, or related disciplines.
- Minimum five years’ experience managing projects or programs, preferably within retail operations or related sectors.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects within retail, consumer products, or apparel industries.
- Expertise in creating and managing detailed workback schedules across multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Skilled at influencing without formal authority and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global or multi-market retail operations.
- Understanding of retail calendars, seasonal product launches, and store execution methods.
- Familiarity with project management software like Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, or Jira.
- Analytical proficiency with a talent for generating executive-level dashboards and reports.
