About Stoke Therapeutics
Stoke Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on restoring protein expression by utilizing RNA medicine. Their proprietary TANGO platform (Targeted Augmentation of Nuclear Gene Output) is designed to develop antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) that precisely restore normal protein levels. Position Purpose
We are looking for a driven and detail-focused Research Associate to join our Early Development team concentrating on oligonucleotide-based therapeutics. This position plays a vital role in the design and advancement of novel drug formulations at preclinical and early clinical phases. Collaboration with various teams supports formulation screening, preparation for in vitro and in vivo studies, and process development. This role reports to the Senior Principal Scientist, formulation lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and performing formulation studies for oligonucleotide drug candidates.
- Conduct laboratory experiments safely and efficiently while documenting results in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
- Work alongside analytical, process development, and manufacturing groups to ensure smooth technology transfer.
- Help prepare technical reports, presentations, and regulatory documents.
- Keep up-to-date with scientific research and trends in oligonucleotide formulation and delivery.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree with two years' experience or a Master's degree in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry.
- Strong foundation in analytical chemistry and fundamental nucleic acid chemistry preferred.
- Experience with UPLC, LCMS, and characterization instruments for formulations is desirable.
- Practical skills in lab techniques such as pH adjustment, UV spectroscopy, endotoxin testing, physical property measurement; experience with HPLC/UPLC beneficial.
- Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Location and Travel
This role is based in Bedford, MA, with a planned relocation to Waltham, MA by the end of 2026. The position requires approximately 5% travel.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range is $87,000 to $98,000, with the final package reflecting experience, education, and other factors. In addition to salary, employees receive annual bonuses and equity participation.
