Role overview
This contract opportunity is for a remote brand designer to help define the visual direction of a new international swimwear and lifestyle label focused on body confidence, especially for women with curvier figures, larger busts, and lipoedema. The work centers on developing the first collection and turning moodboards and brand ideas into swimwear that feels modern, comfortable, and feminine.
The assignment also includes creative work on tropical-inspired branding, pattern and print development, and the possibility of an ongoing creative partnership as the brand evolves.
Key deliverables
- Create original concept sketches for bikini shorts, swim tops, and tankinis designed for diverse and curvy body shapes.
- Develop patterns and prints with a fresh, feminine, tropical look and feel.
- Contribute to branding direction by refining moodboards and logo concepts already in progress.
- Share design revisions, respond to feedback, and adjust concepts until the desired outcome is reached.
- Prepare manufacturer-ready files and technical specifications for production.
Required background and capabilities
- Experience in fashion or brand design, preferably with swimwear or women’s apparel.
- A portfolio that clearly shows skill in garment design, pattern creation, and print development.
- A strong grasp of how fit, comfort, and style should work for curvy and varied body types.
- Working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
- Ability to turn moodboards and brand ideas into a consistent visual identity.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to creative work.
- Familiarity with swimwear trends, fabric choices, and sustainable materials is an advantage.
- Willingness to continue working on the project and meet agreed milestones on time.
