Overview

Join the senior nursing team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as a Registered Nurse on the Emergency Floor, specifically AMU South/Ward 15—a 29-bed assessment unit located on level 5 of the Balmoral building. The unit forms a key part of the emergency floor providing critical patient care.

Role and Responsibilities

We seek a motivated and dynamic registered nurse with a minimum of three years post-registration experience. You will be supported to enhance your leadership and management abilities while exemplifying excellent patient care standards. Partnering with the Ward Sister, you will share responsibility for ward management and uphold high-quality nursing care in the inpatient areas. Your duties will include assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing evidence-based nursing programmes for patient groups, assisting with ward management, contributing to quality nursing standards, and participating actively in the education and supervision of junior staff. You will also serve as a clinical and professional role model, mentoring and supporting students and learners during their placements.

Team and Culture

Our team is known for being friendly, diverse, and supportive. We welcome candidates from varied backgrounds and previous experiences. The Clinical Management Group (CMG) encourages continuous professional growth and invests in individual development opportunities.

Strategic Goals and Values

The Trust’s strategy, shaped from collective feedback from staff, patients, and partners, guides us from 2023 to 2030 with four core objectives: delivering high-quality care for everyone, fostering an excellent workplace environment, forming impactful partnerships, and fostering excellence in research and education. Embedded in everything we do is a commitment to health equity, working collaboratively with communities to reduce disparities in healthcare access and outcomes.

Our culture is defined by four values that we aim to live by daily: compassion, pride, inclusivity, and unity as one team. As we continue to advance, these principles drive us to enhance the care for the people we serve.
