Role Overview

The Regional Supplier Manager plays a critical role in procurement operations by managing supplier relationships, overseeing performance, and leading negotiations to support site requirements. This role involves the strategic application of AI in procurement processes, including category strategy development, cost reduction, and supply base optimization to drive sourcing success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply AI-powered methods to enhance procurement strategies and efficiency.
  • Lead and manage supplier performance and relationships at the site level.
  • Take complete ownership of procurement processes for targeted categories and accounts.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers to align with business objectives.
  • Support capital budgeting, cash flow management, and implement global procurement strategies.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and monitor associated metrics.
  • Introduce and execute process improvements and cost reduction programs.
  • Provide expert consultation on procurement processes and supplier-related challenges.
  • Assist in site audits as required.
  • Maintain and update technical knowledge of products purchased, coordinating with manufacturing and engineering to manage inventory levels.
  • Conduct cost analysis, volume planning for major commodities, and oversee subcontracts to ensure optimal quality and value.
  • Recommend cost-saving proposals, including make versus buy decisions, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
