Regional Purchasing Director - Data Center

Position Overview

Lead and transform the regional purchasing division focused on Data Center projects to guarantee cost efficiency, supplier excellence, and robust supply chains across the region. Drive tailored category and sourcing strategies aligned with Data Center infrastructure and local market conditions to support business expansion and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies focused on Data Center equipment and systems.
• Make key decisions regarding make vs. buy, localization, and footprint optimization.
• Create sourcing governance frameworks ensuring multi-functional coordination.
• Formulate business continuity and dual sourcing approaches to minimize supply risks.
• Define regional operating models, capability frameworks, and leadership standards.
• Promote digital tools, transparency, process unification, and compliance within purchasing for data-driven decisions.
• Transform the purchasing function into a performance-oriented, data-centric organization based on industry benchmarks.
• Support procurement readiness aligned with Data Center project pipelines.
• Assess regional supply market risks and execute mitigation strategies.
• Lead strategic sourcing activities to maintain cost competitiveness, quality, and consistent supply.
• Develop and oversee a high-performing global supplier network, including monitoring and enhancing supplier performance.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality and Logistics to ensure seamless supply performance.
• Manage suppliers specifically for Data Center categories and guarantee critical component availability.
• Facilitate tendering and procurement for major Data Center capital investments.
• Align logistics and supply planning strategically with sourcing activities.
• Foster a performance-driven culture and direct transformation initiatives within the regional purchasing team.
• Build team capabilities in negotiation, cost engineering, and supplier development.
• Define and track purchasing KPIs such as savings, delivery, risk reduction, margin impact, cash flow, and service levels.
• Encourage cooperative efforts across Sales, Operations, R&D, Finance, and Quality departments.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• Over 10 years of leadership experience in regional purchasing or supply chain within industrial settings.
• Proven experience in project procurement (infrastructure, EPC, or Data Centers) and knowledge of Data Center supply chains.
• Track record managing remote and diverse cultural teams.
• Strong skills in strategic planning, negotiation, leadership, and ERP system proficiency.
• Experience driving change management initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder influence, communication, analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Resilient and results-focused under pressure.

Working Environment
