Role Overview

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor based in Bristol to reinforce our Projects Team across the South West region. This role entails frequent on-site presence at MOD Abbey Wood and involves managing various refurbishment and new build assignments. The successful candidate will support project cost estimation, quantity assessment, scheduling, and provide essential business support to the Projects Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating project costs, quantities, and timelines.
• Maintain strong working relationships between the Projects Team and both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure thorough compilation of project reports and documentation.
• Incorporate build controls and milestones into planning and programming.
• Identify business priorities and propose improvement opportunities.
• Provide cost advice and support to the Billable Works Team.
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership to report project progress.
• Participate in Risk Meetings and ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Sustainability, Quality, and other statutory regulations.
• Support change initiatives and explore alternative technical and business solutions.
• Travel within the South West region as required by business demands.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of an HND or Foundation Degree in Quantity Surveying, coupled with relevant construction or commercial property maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in developing cost models, conducting risk analysis and management.
• Experience preparing proposals, tenders, and handling dispute resolutions.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational capabilities.
• Ability to cultivate positive professional relationships across all organizational levels.
• Capacity to manage multiple (3-4) concurrent construction projects.
• Candidates at Assistant QS level aiming to progress or established Quantity Surveyors are encouraged to apply.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
