Quantity Surveying and Billing Engineer

Overview

This role is a full-time, on-location position based in Ludhiana, Punjab, requiring an experienced Quantity Surveying (QS) and Billing Engineer. The primary responsibilities include preparing and verifying Bills of Quantities (BOQ), ensuring accuracy in quantity measurements at the site, and documenting all civil and finishing work details thoroughly.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of BOQs aligned with project specifications.
• On-site verification and measurement of quantities to ensure correctness.
• Processing of bills for contractors and vendors with thorough verification.
• Coordination with site engineers and project managers to facilitate smooth billing operations.
• Conducting rate analysis and cost comparisons to aid budgeting, tender processes, and cost control.
• Maintaining billing records and assisting in tender documentation.
• Collaborating with accounts and procurement teams for billing accuracy and procedure adherence.
• Contributing to process improvements within quantity surveying and billing departments.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Expertise in quantity surveying principles, BOQ preparation, estimation, and construction documentation.
• Experience spanning from entry level up to 4 years in relevant fields.
• Strong command of billing systems, procedures for contractor/vendor bill processing, and reconciliation with finance and project teams.
• Skilled in rate analysis and cost evaluation to assist with budgeting and tendering efforts.
• Advanced analytical capabilities to verify site quantities and detect differences between drawings and actual execution.
• Academic credentials: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and familiarity with quantity surveying and billing software platforms.
• Understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and fundamental accounting principles related to project billing is advantageous.
• Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong teamwork skills for cross-functional on-site collaboration.
