Quantity Surveying Analyst

Role Summary

This position is for a Quantity Surveying Analyst who will support infrastructure and capital projects by producing precise quantity measurements, assisting with bills of quantities, and protecting the accuracy of project documentation. The work is focused on construction projects in the UK and Europe, with close coordination alongside senior quantity surveying professionals and support for junior team members where needed.

Experience

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for delivering accurate quantity take-offs, supporting the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and ensuring measurement quality throughout the project lifecycle. The role also includes working with senior quantity surveyors, supporting team output, and contributing to the planning, engineering, construction, operations, and compliance stages of large infrastructure and capital assets.

Measurement and Take-Off Work

• Examine architectural, structural, and services drawings along with specifications before beginning measurement work.
• Set up and organize dimension groups in CostX according to the project framework.
• Complete detailed and accurate take-offs across all packages, using dynamic links to drawings wherever possible.
• Record manual take-offs, calculations, and notes in Level 3 of the CostX workbook to maintain traceability.
• Calibrate PDF drawings using the stated dimensions before measuring them to improve accuracy.

BoQ Preparation and Documentation

• Draft Bills of Quantities using recognized UK measurement standards such as NRM2, CESMM4, or similar methods.
• Prepare BoQ cover sheets using the organization’s standard templates, including drawing lists with revision numbers, referenced specifications, and any clarifications, assumptions, or notes.
• Check that abstracted quantities and supporting worksheets align with the final BoQ output.
• Review all live links, formulas, and quantities carefully before submitting BoQs for final review.

Technical Queries and Quality Control

• Log and route Technical Queries through the internal register whenever clarification is needed.
• Support quality control by checking measurement accuracy, completeness, and consistency across deliverables.

Working Style

This role involves solving lower-complexity problems and working mainly with peers before escalating updates to supervisors. Interaction with clients and Accenture leadership may be limited. Day-to-day work is guided by moderate instructions, while new assignments come with detailed direction. The role is primarily individual contributor-based within a team, and decisions may affect your own work as well as the work of others. Rotational shift work may be required.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of quantity surveying and construction measurement practices.
• Ability to use digital take-off and measurement tools such as CostX, AutoCAD, or Mudshark.
• Clear understanding of RICS measurement standards including NRM2, SMM7, and CESMM4.
• Good grasp of construction drawings, materials, and project documents.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and organized handling of project data.
