Role Overview
Based in Vijayawada, this full-time on-site Quality Manager position is responsible for upholding quality standards across manufacturing operations related to excavator buckets and armoured vehicle components. Core duties include establishing and executing quality control protocols, monitoring production activities, performing inspections and audits, and ensuring adherence to both international and defence regulations. The role requires investigating deviations, leading root cause analysis efforts, and implementing corrective and preventive measures to improve product dependability.
The Quality Manager will collaborate extensively with teams from production, design, and supply chain functions, manage documentation to maintain certifications and fulfill customer requirements, and promote continuous enhancement initiatives aimed at optimizing quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of quality management frameworks, standards (such as ISO), inspection, testing procedures, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience in quality assurance and control within sectors like heavy engineering, fabrication, automotive, or defence manufacturing.
- Capability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and material standards pertinent to excavator buckets and armoured vehicle parts.
- Proficiency with quality measurement devices and maintaining precise documentation and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, machining, and assembly relevant to engineering fabrication.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making competencies, with a keen eye for detail and dedication to continuous improvement.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills allowing fruitful collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field; possession of quality certifications is advantageous.
- Prior experience in export-oriented manufacturing or defence project environments is highly valued.
