Role Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Kendal, UK site. Reporting to the Quality Lead (BAR), you will primarily oversee quality issues related to the IBAR product range at the K1 Kendal location, with occasional involvement in other UK product lines. Your main focus will be managing, investigating, and resolving non-conformances to ensure production continuity without compromising compliance with customer and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer internal and external non-conformance cases by ensuring prompt containment, thorough investigation, and effective corrective measures.
• Lead root cause analyses employing structured problem-solving techniques like 5 Whys, 8D, and Ishikawa diagrams.
• Provide primary quality support to production teams, promoting a right-first-time mindset.
• Organize and facilitate daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to determine disposition of concessions, rework, or scrap items.
• Analyze quality performance metrics, detect trends, monitor key performance indicators, and communicate risks and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to address quality concerns, provide updates, and assist with corrective action documentation.
• Support audits conducted internally, by suppliers, and customers, ensuring adherence to quality processes and standards.
• Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at elevating product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Quality Engineer within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to handle non-conformances and lead root cause investigations.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and FMEA.
• Competence in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with experience in quality management systems and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence in liaising with production personnel, customers, and stakeholders at various levels.
• Internal Auditor certification and experience supporting customer or supplier audits are advantageous.
