Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance, release management, deployment scheduling, and operational readiness activities for multiple ICT projects.
- Create and enforce quality management frameworks, deployment standards, release governance, and related processes.
- Manage release timelines, deployment tasks, and readiness of environments to ensure smooth production rollouts.
- Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, vendors, business units, and operational support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Lead go-live readiness checks, facilitate deployment workshops, and conduct post-deployment evaluations.
- Track and provide reports on quality metrics, deployment status, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Prepare deployment runbooks, release documentation, testing plans, and materials for operational transitions.
- Ensure adherence to organizational governance, change management protocols, and operational support standards.
- Identify and advocate improvements in testing, deployment, release, and quality assurance throughout the delivery portfolio.
- Support business transitions by providing leadership during deployment lifecycles to reduce operational risks.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven leadership in quality assurance, release management, deployment management, or ICT delivery in complex technology contexts.
- In-depth understanding of Software Development Lifecycle, testing approaches, change management, release oversight, and deployment best practices.
- Strong skills in managing multiple simultaneous releases, balancing priorities, understanding risks, and handling stakeholder expectations.
- Experience establishing quality systems, release procedures, deployment protocols, and operational readiness practices.
- Practical expertise with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or analogous platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, effective across technical teams, business units, and executive leadership.
- Strong analytical mindset with organizational and problem-solving aptitude, focused on continuous process enhancement.
- Capability to create governance documents, executive reports, deployment plans, and maintain quality indicators and release records.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, ITIL standards, and contemporary ICT delivery models.
- Experience in government, regulated, or sizable enterprise ICT projects is a significant advantage.
- Relevant tertiary education in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, or related fields.
Additional Information
- This assignment is a 6-month contract position based on-site in Darwin, Northern Territory.
- Candidates must hold a valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check.
