Purchase Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to handle procurement activities focused on agricultural products such as pulses, grains, oilseeds, spices, and more. This position requires coordinating with various internal teams and managing supplier relationships to ensure smooth and cost-effective purchasing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively source and purchase agro-based commodities including pulses, grains, oilseeds, and spices.
• Build and sustain effective relationships with suppliers, traders, farmers, and commission agents.
• Negotiate favorable purchase prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines to optimize procurement costs.
• Compare supplier quotations thoroughly to ensure purchases are cost-efficient.
• Keep track of market fluctuations and commodity price trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate closely with sales, logistics, and warehouse departments for seamless coordination.
• Maintain meticulous purchase records and update supplier databases regularly.
• Identify potential new suppliers and assess them for suitability.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated 2 to 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within agro commodity sectors.
• Strong understanding of agricultural commodities and market dynamics.
• Excellent negotiation abilities paired with effective communication skills.
• Capable of conducting detailed analysis and managing vendor relationships.
• Resilient under pressure with an aptitude for rapid purchase decision-making.

Additional Information

Monthly salary range offered is INR 30,000 to INR 70,000.
