Job Overview

Primary Responsibilities

• Gather and properly dispose of waste and recycling materials from public bins and specified locations.
• Maintain cleanliness of streets, sidewalks, parks, and other communal spaces, utilizing both manual tools and machinery.
• Support upkeep and servicing of sanitation vehicles and equipment.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations when handling waste and cleaning agents.
• Identify and report sanitation concerns such as full trash containers or unauthorized dumping to supervisors promptly.
• Work collaboratively with peers to efficiently complete assigned cleaning routes each day.
• Provide support during emergency cleanup efforts following storms, public gatherings, or environmental incidents.

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is favored but not mandatory.
• Experience in waste management, sanitation, or related fields is advantageous.
• Capability to perform physically rigorous tasks, including lifting heavy items and working in diverse weather conditions.
• Understanding of waste disposal laws and safety procedures.
• Good communication and strong teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and adherence to instructions.
• A valid driver's license is preferred, especially for operating sanitation vehicles.
