Protection and Control Coordinator

Overview

The Protection and Control Coordinator will oversee the control room operations and electronic security systems at Mantrac Liberia. This position requires hands-on knowledge with systems such as fire alarms, CCTV cameras, biometric scanners, electronic access control, and intrusion alarms, including supervising contracted security personnel.

Main Duties

• Manage daily activities in the control room, maintaining precise logs and ensuring effective incident handovers.
• Monitor fire alarm systems, perform routine checks, and coordinate maintenance while supporting fire drills and emergency plans.
• Oversee CCTV monitoring, ensure footage confidentiality, and handle footage retrieval for investigations.
• Manage biometric systems for user enrollments and access tracking, troubleshooting where needed.
• Administer electronic access controls by granting, reviewing, and revoking authorizations.
• Respond immediately to intrusion alarms and conduct investigations into false or recurring activations.
• Maintain registers of security equipment and follow up on system faults until resolution.
• Supervise contracted security guards ensuring compliance with protocols and proper coverage of posts.
• Handle incident responses including theft, fire alarms, unauthorized access and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Maintain detailed logs on visitors, patrols, alarms, and security breaches, submitting regular operational reports.
• Carry out security inspections to find vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
• Assist in developing security policies and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders including regulatory agencies and emergency responders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, or related fields. Alternatively, a technical diploma with solid practical experience may be accepted.
• At least three years' experience in control-room or electronic security systems operations within sectors like industrial security, banking, telecommunications, or mining.
• Proven expertise with fire alarm systems, CCTV, biometric and electronic access control, intrusion detection, and security guard supervision.
• Certifications related to electronic security, fire safety, or security management are advantages.

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must have practical, hands-on experience in control room operations and managing electronic security systems. Experience limited to general security or guard supervision without direct exposure to fire alarms, CCTV, biometric scanners, access control, or intrusion systems will not be adequate.
