About Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland)
From April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland combined to form PSD Scotland, a national body dedicated to enhancing the continuity and sustainability of health and care services across Scotland. PSD Scotland merges expertise from both organizations to expedite national initiatives that support the NHS in delivering superior care. It offers staff education and training, supplies critical tools and data to improve services, and manages essential national operations such as procurement and logistics.
Role Overview
This position offers an exciting opportunity to join ARHAI Scotland (Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection), a division within PSD Scotland. ARHAI Scotland focuses on preventing healthcare-associated infections through guidance, surveillance, research, and training in areas including surgical-site surveillance and microbiological control.
The Project Manager will support and collaborate with consultants, programme leads, and senior scientific staff to plan and implement various ARHAI Priority Programmes. The role demands autonomy to lead projects, identify challenges, and coordinate with stakeholders to overcome obstacles ensuring objectives are completed within schedule and budget. Additionally, the Project Manager will represent ARHAI Scotland by communicating programme progress to internal and external parties and building connections across related projects.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent experience, alongside strong enthusiasm, organizational abilities, and communication skills. Proven expertise in project scoping, documentation, planning, and risk management is essential, as is a proactive approach to prioritizing workload and maintaining quality with meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams is expected. NHS experience is advantageous.
Work Location and Hours
The role is based in Glasgow with hybrid working arrangements allowing considerable remote work. Access to other NHS NSS locations across Scotland is available if needed. This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 36 hours weekly, generally Monday through Friday.
