About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and ensure the successful completion of asphalt paving projects throughout the Bay of Plenty region. Ideal candidates may range from senior project managers to skilled project managers seeking a fresh challenge. This role demands strong commercial insight, leadership skills, and a proven history of managing civil infrastructure projects with safety and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead tender preparation, pricing analysis, and project handover for asphalt paving contracts.
- Manage the delivery of several projects from initial planning stages through to project completion and final accounting.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, and cost-to-complete monitoring to ensure financial control.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to a team comprising Engineers and Supervisors.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards across all projects.
Candidate Requirements
- A qualification in construction management, engineering, or related fields, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering asphalt paving or civil infrastructure projects within New Zealand or similarly regulated markets.
- Strong expertise in contract management, pricing strategies, and cost control practices.
- Collaborative leadership approach with the ability to develop and support project teams effectively.
- A strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Familiarity with the Construction Contracts Act and NZS3910 standards.
- Possession of a valid full Class 1 driver's license.
