Key Responsibilities
- Create engaging adventure education programs tailored for young learners across various formats such as schools, expeditions, and special events.
- Develop comprehensive risk assessments, safe operational procedures, and instructor manuals while ensuring safeguarding standards are met consistently.
- Provide training, mentorship, and oversight to instructors and partner groups located in the UK and UAE.
- Identify and procure suitable equipment and conduct field trials of new initiatives; incorporate learnings to refine program designs.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess expertise in outdoor education or adventure sports, backed by recognized national governing body (NGB) certifications, alongside a robust focus on safety and creativity. The ability to balance procedural diligence with innovative programming design is crucial.
- Relevant formal qualifications in outdoor education, adventure sports, sports coaching, or related fields.
- Proven experience in executing and managing outdoor education or adventure activities.
- Competency in developing session plans, educational content, or activity programs.
- Deep knowledge of risk management, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Experience mentoring, training, or evaluating instructors or staff members.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of autonomous work and remote collaboration.
- A valid UK driving license.
- NGB certification in at least one adventure sport such as climbing, paddlesports, mountain biking, or archery.
- First Aid certification.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to obtain.
- Legal authorization to work in the UK.
Additional Role Details
- Position is full-time on a 2-year fixed-term contract with potential renewal.
- Reports directly to the General Manager.
- Expected start date: September 2026.
- UK-based candidates will work primarily remotely, with international travel representing up to 25% of their time, mainly to the UAE.
- UAE-based candidates will follow a hybrid work model with occasional international travel.
