Role overview

Bellurgan Precision Engineering is seeking a Production Planner to manage, coordinate and keep on top of manufacturing schedules so that production runs smoothly and meets customer demand.

The role reports to the Production Manager and is based in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland. The working pattern is 39 hours per week.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Building monthly production plans from customer forecasts while taking operational limitations into account.
  • Preparing weekly schedules in the ERP platform and monitoring any gaps or deviations in output.
  • Updating the Production Manager and Head of Operations on plan status and any likely production blockages.
  • Partnering with production and engineering teams to handle urgent customer orders and prototype work.
  • Creating inventory plans that support reliable and accurate production planning.
  • Raising purchase requisitions and checking that materials are available to support planned output.
  • Working with procurement colleagues to review supplier inputs and outputs and identify options for component control.
  • Tracking key performance indicators and contributing to ongoing improvement activities.
  • Helping refine and improve the planning process over time.
  • Carrying out other reasonable duties as needed.

Experience and qualification profile

  • A minimum of 3 years in a planning or scheduling position, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, especially advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous exposure to ERP systems; Epicor experience is an advantage.
  • A third-level qualification in Business or Supply Chain is preferred.
