Job Overview

We are seeking a Production Operator to oversee and execute daily manufacturing tasks aligned with the production schedule in a manufacturing environment based in Chennai, India. This role demands meticulous coordination with various teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and quality-driven production processes while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and carry out the daily production plan as per the scheduled targets.
  • Continuously monitor the production lifecycle to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency ensuring timely delivery of products.
  • Liaise effectively with production, inventory, quality control, and maintenance teams to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials to enhance productivity.
  • Maintain precise records and documentation related to production activities and reports.
  • Oversee raw material supply monitoring in collaboration with the stores department to prevent production setbacks.
  • Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures and organizational quality benchmarks.
  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations applicable on the production floor.
  • Recognize and resolve production issues by supporting corrective and preventive actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Reduce downtime, waste, and product rework by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies adoption within the production environment.
  • Assist in managing inventory controls and aid production planning activities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams on machine servicing schedules to ensure operational reliability.
  • Achieve production targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, preparing and presenting performance summaries to management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Up to 3 years of professional experience in production or manufacturing operations preferred; however, fresh graduates with relevant knowledge will also be considered.
  • Good understanding of production planning and manufacturing workflows.
  • Familiarity with basic quality control systems and workplace safety protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP software is advantageous.
