Production Operator

About the Role

Join PepsiCo's Leicester team as a Production Operator, contributing to the creation of iconic UK snacks such as Walkers crisps. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work with machinery and thrive on solving operational challenges.

Work Schedule

• Operate on a continental shift pattern consisting of 4 days on and 4 days off.
• Average 42 hours per week, including shifts on weekends, bank holidays, and nights.
• Shifts are 12 hours long.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary of £38,951.30, inclusive of a 23.5% shift premium.
• Performance bonuses awarded quarterly.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment to ensure smooth production line flow.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance to prevent downtime.
• Identify and escalate any safety issues promptly.
• Record equipment problems and contribute to troubleshooting efforts.
• Manage equipment changeovers between different products or production batches.
• Communicate operational updates effectively during shift handovers.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in a production line or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to inspect machinery for faults and replace simple components.
• Strong problem-solving skills related to routine mechanical issues.
• Keen awareness and adherence to safety standards.
• Effective communication capabilities.
