Product Designer

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and imaginative Product Designer to become an integral part of HP's dynamic team based in Vancouver, WA. Our ideal candidate is inventive, entrepreneurial, and motivated to rethink how users, brands, and services collaborate to make HP’s devices and services distinctly personal and valuable.

Embedded within HP’s Global Experience Design (GxD) organization, this role involves close collaboration with UX, product, and technology teams from various business units to craft experiences across mobile and desktop platforms. The position demands navigating diverse inputs across a complex ecosystem while ensuring a user-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage design projects end-to-end from identifying problems to delivering complete solutions for central features and contribute to platform-wide experiences.
• Translate user behaviors, needs, and research data into intuitive and engaging designs, supporting research efforts and validating design choices with user insights.
• Develop polished interaction and visual designs consistent with brand and system guidelines, progressing smoothly from rough concepts to production-ready interfaces.
• Design AI-enhanced features like intelligent suggestions, automation, and contextual help, ensuring their usefulness, usability, and trustworthiness.
• Integrate AI tools throughout the design workflow to expedite ideation, research, prototyping, and iteration while maintaining high quality and critical evaluation.
• Collaborate effectively across multiple teams and business units to align stakeholders and deliver cohesive platform-level design solutions with a strong advocacy for users.
• Contribute to scalable design systems ensuring consistency for mobile and desktop environments, updating design patterns as required.
• Build prototypes to explore and communicate concepts, iterating swiftly based on feedback, data, and changing requirements.
• Communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional colleagues at all organizational levels, fostering a constructive design culture.

Required Experience and Skills

• 3 to 5 years of experience in UX/UI or Product Design with ownership across product design lifecycle phases from ideation to delivery.
• Strong portfolio showcasing UX strategy, interaction design, and visual craftsmanship is mandatory.
• Proven expertise in crafting AI-infused product experiences, such as personalization and conversational interfaces.
• Experienced in utilizing AI design tools to enhance workflow quality, speed, and insight.
• Proficient with designing for both mobile and desktop platforms using tools like Figma and other modern prototyping software.
• In-depth knowledge of component-based design and design systems.
• Familiar with user research techniques and applying data to inform design decisions.
• Exceptional collaboration skills with a history of working with complex, multidisciplinary teams.
• Capability to manage ambiguity, consolidate diverse perspectives, and drive stakeholder alignment.
• Strong storytelling and communication aptitudes to advocate design thinking and influence decisions.
• Highly attentive to detail, organized, and open to continuous learning and adaptation.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range in the U.S. is $105,050 to $161,800, with additional potential earnings through bonuses or equity. Compensation varies according to location, experience, and skills.
