Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the produce department's cleanliness, organization, and zoning to ensure it is always ready for shoppers.
- Regularly rotate products, remove expired items, and uphold freshness and quality standards.
- Verify accurate pricing and labels for all produce, adhering to procedures around ordering, discounts, signage, and markdowns.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and cold chain protocols, including temperature monitoring, proper food handling, and respect for sell-by and expiration dates.
- Stock and downstock merchandise as needed, use product protection measures when necessary, and arrange modular displays to keep shelves fully stocked.
- Adhere strictly to Health and Safety policies to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working varied shifts such as evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet store requirements.
Challenges in the Role
- Manage high volumes of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight shifts, by planning and maintaining focus and energy.
- Handle physically demanding duties including standing for long periods, bending, lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Perform repetitive stocking, zoning, and organizing tasks carefully to maintain store standards.

Compensation
The position's starting wage is $16.45 per hour.
