Overview

A prominent construction and contracting firm located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee and guide procurement operations across significant projects. The role focuses on strategizing procurement activities, handling supplier and subcontractor relationships, controlling costs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services according to project plans and criteria.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee procurement processes related to construction materials, equipment, services, and subcontracting packages.
  • Develop and execute detailed procurement plans and sourcing methods for various projects.
  • Identify and assess potential suppliers and subcontractors; conduct negotiations to secure favorable terms.
  • Manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs), evaluate bids, handle purchase orders, and lead commercial negotiation efforts.
  • Track procurement schedules, budgets, lead times, and delivery of materials to align with project timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, commercial, finance, and site teams to ensure procurement aligns with project needs.
  • Maintain updated approved supplier lists and regularly appraise supplier performance.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and contractual obligations.
  • Generate detailed reports on procurement status, cost comparisons, and savings achieved.
  • Utilize the company's ERP system to manage procurement workflows efficiently.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Procurement Manager within the construction or contracting industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of procuring civil, structural, architectural, and MEP materials and related services.
  • Proficient in using ERP procurement software for managing purchasing operations.
  • Strong capabilities in supplier relationship management, negotiation skills, and cost control techniques.
  • Experience handling procurement for large-scale or multiple concurrent construction projects.
  • Solid understanding of contracts, purchase order processes, logistics, and supply chain management.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
