Job description
Role Overview
Process Assistants play a crucial role within Amazon's Middle Mile operations, significantly driving team growth and daily departmental management. Their responsibilities cover labor allocation, conducting meetings, assigning tasks, directing workflow, and communicating with both internal teams and external parties.
Work Schedule
The position involves a variable shift rotation based on 4 days on and 3 days off, inclusive of weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on labor hours accurately.
- On occasion, support production activities, train team members, and ensure standard operating procedure (SOP) adherence.
- Boost performance by tracking and reporting key metrics for assigned work areas.
- Evaluate associate performance independently and provide prompt, detailed feedback.
- Engage in operational excellence projects and initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of workflows and daily production objectives.
- Perform regular reviews and updates of SOP documentation as needed.
- Ensure workplace cleanliness and proper equipment availability.
- Identify safety hazards and actively participate in safety programs within the work environment.
- Coach team members on safe work practices consistently.
- Ensure immediate and proper reporting of workplace injuries in line with company policies.
- Offer shift coverage support to Shift Managers when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds; stand or walk up to 12-hour shifts with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and reaching.
- Prior leadership experience managing teams.
- Background in roles related to manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or large-scale retail environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively coach and support team members.
- Availability to work at least 38 hours per week with overtime flexibility.
- Proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct leadership experience managing staff.
- Comfortable lifting up to 16 kilograms and enduring physical tasks for 10-12 hours with or without accommodations.
- Experience with performance metrics tracking and implementing lean process improvements.
