Precast Detailer

Position Overview

The precast detailer is responsible for producing accurate shop drawings and detailed designs of precast concrete elements that conform to project specifications, structural criteria, and design regulations. This role involves close cooperation with engineers, architects, and construction teams to support the manufacturing and assembly of precast components.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze architectural and structural plans to create comprehensive precast concrete shop drawings.
• Develop 3D models and production drawings for various precast parts including walls, beams, columns, stairs, and facades.
• Ensure adherence to applicable industry codes, safety regulations, and project standards in all detailing work.
• Liaise with engineers and fabrication teams to address any design or manufacturing challenges.
• Verify shop drawings for precision, clarity, and practical feasibility.
• Manage documentation and track revisions across the project duration.
• Communicate efficiently with project personnel to facilitate on-schedule fabrication and delivery.
• Utilize CAD applications such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla Structures for detailed drafting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working as a precast detailer or comparable role.
• Proficient in CAD and 3D modeling software.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes related to precast concrete.
• Knowledgeable in building regulations, standards, and fundamental engineering concepts.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with effective problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits required. The role involves collaboration among design, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth project execution.
