Pre-Primary Teacher

Job Overview

This role requires fostering a nurturing and safe learning environment specifically suited for pre-primary children. The candidate will be responsible for creating a clean, well-organized, and child-friendly classroom that complies with health and safety guidelines.

Instructional Responsibilities

• Understand and meet the developmental and age-specific needs of young children, using knowledge of basic milestones.
• Design and implement a daily schedule that balances active play, quiet time, meals, and rest to suit the children's developmental stages.
• Create and execute engaging lesson plans with flexibility to adjust based on children’s interests and needs.

Child Supervision and Care

• Oversee children's activities indoors and outdoors, including meal and rest times.
• Provide necessary personal care attention to the children.
• Encourage positive behavior and address individual needs.
• Be prepared to handle emergencies and administer basic first aid when required.
• Communicate effectively with children, using age-appropriate methods.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Observe and assess developmental progress and behavior.
• Maintain documentation on milestones; discuss any concerns with parents or guardians.
• Maintain open communication with parents about their child’s progress, daily activities, and concerns.

Professional Development and Collaboration

• Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the School Head.
