Role Overview
As the Portfolio Lead, Banking, you will manage a comprehensive portfolio of partnerships with banks and financial institutions. Your role will focus on expanding access to affordable water and sanitation financing through these partnerships. You will balance strategic leadership with hands-on relationship management, shaping partner strategies, clearing operational hurdles, and turning market opportunities into meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, financial targets, and performance of a diversified partnership portfolio promoting water and sanitation finance.
- Engage senior leaders in banks, microfinance institutions, and related enterprises to drive sustained annual growth of new and existing accounts.
- Prioritize and align portfolio opportunities with regional objectives, providing escalation support to your team as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting on account performance, impact metrics, and funding usage for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor a team of account managers and partnership professionals, fostering skill development and growth.
- Identify and cultivate networks and partners poised to expand into water and sanitation finance, converting prospects into impactful collaborations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in retail and wholesale finance or water and sanitation infrastructure finance/projects, including strategic account and partner management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated success in business development with public or private entities focused on water, sanitation, banking, microfinance, or related sectors.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience in commercial, corporate, or institutional banking, progressing from relationship management roles to portfolio or business segment ownership.
- Proven expertise managing senior and executive-level stakeholder relationships and influencing decision-making in complex organizations at regional or portfolio levels.
