Overview

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility, focusing on safe, efficient waste incineration and steam generation. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, environmental policies, and security protocols while driving team performance and operational excellence in a continuous 24/7 setting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct all daily EfW plant processes including waste nomination planning, bunker management, incineration operations, steam production, and ash handling to maximize safety and efficiency.
  • Guarantee safe and dependable steam delivery matching customer agreements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with government bodies such as NEA, MOM, SCDF, and PUB, enforcing safety, health, environmental, and company policies.
  • Monitor environmental factors including exhaust emissions, CO₂e output, ash disposal, wastewater, noise, and dust to meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage site security by overseeing access controls, surveillance, contractor access, and enforcing security measures.
  • Implement continuous improvement efforts such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), predictive maintenance, and digital condition monitoring.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams composed of boardmen, engineers, technicians, and security personnel, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including steam customers, utility providers, regulators, and internal departments.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting and resource allocation aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Support audits, inspections, and ensure necessary operational licenses are secured and maintained.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Familiar with NEA licensing procedures, carbon taxation, and emissions monitoring protocols.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in environments demanding continuous process optimization.
  • Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Extensive knowledge of operational workflows, safety regulations, and product processes.
  • Well-versed in health, safety, environment regulations and industry best practices.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
