Role Summary
The Planning Engineer will support the planning and scheduling aspects of operations projects focused on upgrades in both onshore and offshore locations. Close collaboration with Qatargas Planning Specialist and Construction teams is essential.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Identify construction activities and determine required resources, including manpower, equipment, and logistics.
- Develop both short-term and long-term construction schedules highlighting key milestones, manpower allocation, and progress curves (S-curves) for each work order.
- Utilize PERT or CPM planning methodologies to create schedules with varying detail levels (I-V), incorporating early finish, late finish, and most-likely durations as control measures.
- Establish clear methods to gauge physical progress and define criteria for activity completion.
- Monitor, track, and control work order schedules; propose corrective actions to mitigate delays and prepare forward-looking schedules.
- Coordinate efforts among different divisions, sections, and disciplines to ensure synchronized construction execution.
- Compile detailed construction execution reports for evaluation and future reference.
- Manage Primavera P3 software including maintaining database consistency.
- Provide Primavera P3 training sessions when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a degree or diploma from an accredited Engineering Institute.
- At least 8 years of experience as a Technical Planner in the oil and gas sector.
- Proficient with Primavera P3 software and technical planning tools.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Effective leadership and teamwork abilities with good interpersonal skills.
