Overview
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for creating and managing detailed project schedules, analyzing progress, forecasting completion dates, and aiding project teams in meeting key milestones efficiently within construction projects.
Key Duties
- Develop comprehensive schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Establish baseline timelines, create work breakdown structures (WBS), and define project timelines.
- Track and compare actual progress against planned schedules actively.
- Identify risks, delays, and critical path tasks within the schedule.
- Conduct critical path method analysis and plan resource allocation accordingly.
- Prepare regular progress reports on daily, weekly, and monthly bases.
- Collaborate closely with construction, procurement, engineering, and management teams.
- Support development of recovery plans to address delayed activities.
- Analyze productivity metrics and resource utilization effectiveness.
- Assist with claims management, extension of time assessments, and delay analysis as needed.
- Participate in project meetings and deliver schedule updates to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction planning or project controls.
- Solid understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle management.
- Proficient in scheduling software and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledgeable in CPM scheduling, earned value management, and project control methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and report preparation.

- Expertise in planning and scheduling methodologies.
- Skilled in Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis.
- Experience with resource loading and leveling.
- Knowledge of cost control and forecasting.
