Role Overview

We are seeking our first dedicated People Director to establish and lead the People function globally across the US and Greece. Reporting to the CFO and collaborating closely with the CEO, this position involves building organizational strategy, systems, and infrastructure from scratch, covering all facets such as compensation, recruitment, onboarding, operations, culture, and performance management. This opportunity offers a chance to shape the company's People leadership long-term and grow a team under your guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with executives to design organizational strategy and adaptable workforce planning for scalable growth.
• Implement company-wide goal-setting frameworks linking company, team, and individual objectives, and establish structured performance reviews with job leveling and career pathways.
• Develop a competitive compensation philosophy aligned to market benchmarks and individual performance including equity strategies.
• Design comprehensive recruitment strategies with rigorous interview processes in collaboration with leaders across both geographies.
• Create onboarding and training programs that ensure consistent and efficient new hire integration.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle including compliance with US multi-state and European employment laws, HRIS management, payroll coordination, and administrative support.
• Foster employee engagement and a cohesive culture through surveys, feedback loops, coaching for new managers, and structured communication such as town halls.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a People team starting with a junior team member in Athens.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of progressive leadership in People functions with a proven track record of building strategic systems from the ground up.
• Strong analytical background with early experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or business operations to approach problems quantitatively and structurally.
• Self-driven with the ability to manage projects end-to-end independently, from conceptual frameworks to detailed administrative processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of US employment laws and multi-state compliance.
• Direct experience collaborating with senior leadership within venture-backed or growing tech companies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating across US and European contexts, familiar with international labor laws and GDPR compliance.
• Track record supporting organizational scaling, international expansion, or public-market preparation.
• Hands-on ownership of HR systems selection and implementation (HRIS, payroll, EOR) during company growth phases.
• Capability to produce executive-level People materials, including detailed headcount planning and compensation benchmarking for board and investors.
