Role Overview

The Patient Support Nurse is responsible for maintaining continuous contact with patients enrolled in programs, identifying and addressing barriers to therapy initiation and completion, and ensuring a smooth treatment experience from enrollment to therapy conclusion.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a consistent point of support throughout the patient's treatment journey, identifying challenges to therapy adherence and guiding patients through them.
Provide educational support with expertise in clinical treatments, emotional challenges, and financial considerations tied to new diagnoses, chronic or life-threatening conditions.
Educate patients regarding their prescribed therapies, including benefits and potential side effects as per product data.
Instruct on correct administration and dosing procedures for therapies.
Coordinate with patients' insurance providers to clarify coverage, expected out-of-pocket expenses, and eligibility for financial aid based on patient needs.
Offer support to help patients manage stress related to their diagnoses.
Encourage patient involvement in their care by directing them to additional support services or social intervention programs.
Report adverse events or product complaints compliant with standard operating procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
Adhere to Valeris’ core values and corporate policies with punctual completion of all required trainings and consistent SOP compliance.
Undertake additional responsibilities or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably with relevant disease state exposure.
Experience in nurseline triage, call center utilization or case management, or clinical trial nursing is advantageous.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Eligible for remote work pending fulfillment of work-from-home criteria and business requirements.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regular communication and auditory engagement required.
Extended periods of sitting, typing, handling, and reaching are common; ability to type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy is preferred.
Minimal flexibility for occasional travel preferred.
Work typically occurs in a professional office setting using standard office equipment like computers, phones, and copiers.
