Job Overview
Harper Volkswagen in Knoxville, TN, a well-established franchise with over 40 years of operation, is seeking a Parts Manager to lead their parts department following the retirement of the previous manager. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the department's profit and loss, inventory, and team, reporting directly to the General Manager. The store has a strong wholesale presence, minimal obsolescence, and a highly experienced staff. Factory training will be provided through the Volkswagen Academy.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage inventory investment to meet turnover targets, minimize obsolescence, and maintain adequate stock levels for service efficiency.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies across retail, wholesale, and internal channels to optimize gross profit and sustain customer loyalty.
- Maintain disciplined stock ordering practices to limit emergency and special orders.
- Expand the wholesale parts business by fostering relationships with independent repair shops and body shops.
- Oversee warranty returns, core parts handling, and recover factory credits using appropriate tagging and procedures.
- Conduct monthly accounting reconciliations, cycle counts, and coordinate annual physical inventories.
- Lead, train, and hold accountable the parts team supporting both service departments and external customers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least two years of management experience in a franchise dealership parts department; Volkswagen or import brand familiarity preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Dealer Management Systems (DMS), preferably DealerTrack, and electronic parts catalogs.
- Demonstrated track record of improving inventory turns, reducing obsolescence, and growing wholesale business, supported by quantifiable data.
- Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.
