Overview

This role involves participating in a structured training programme culminating in continuous assessments and a final competency evaluation before managing tasks independently in a live environment. The position operates in shifts and emphasizes safety, efficiency, and coordination in aircraft stand and gate operations.

Role Purpose

Ensure safe and efficient aircraft stand and gate activities by managing resources, maintaining accurate operational data, and assisting with airport-wide decision-making.

Key Duties

  • Plan and oversee aircraft stand and gate assignments adhering to regulatory standards including AIP, SMS, and the Aerodrome Manual.
  • Balance operational constraints across apron, terminal, and other considerations in real time.
  • Contribute to the updates of the Airport Operations Plan (AOP).
  • Monitor aircraft movements through AOS and other operational systems and maintain precise records of operational metrics such as block times and stand usage.
  • Update and maintain operational tools including AOS, AVDGS, ACDM, and track key performance indicators with high data integrity.
  • Coordinate extensively with APOC teams, air traffic control, airlines, and handling agents, communicating changes promptly and escalating problems as necessary.
  • Respond effectively to disruptions including adverse weather, emergencies, and special events like VIP visits, ensuring business continuity.
  • Maintain detailed daily operational logs, support reporting, and contribute to continuous operational improvements and project tasks.
  • Keep safety central to all activities, supervising ramp operations and escalating risks, while liaising with Airside Safety and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) teams.
