Operation Manager

Overview

We are searching for an experienced Operation Manager to lead and oversee logistics operations related to heavy assets and over-dimensional cargo. The role involves managing fleet and driver activities, project execution, cost tracking, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations. This position is based onsite at our primary hub in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily dispatch, route planning, driver assignments, and implement vehicle safety protocols for the heavy asset fleet.
• Supervise specialized ODC (over-dimensional cargo) movements including conducting route surveys, height clearance checks, and coordinating specialized field crews.
• Track operational budgets, control fuel consumption, reduce empty runs, and prepare daily performance reports.
• Ensure full compliance with heavy vehicle documentation such as E-Way bills, multi-state permits, insurance renewals, and manage incidents including accidents or breakdowns.
• Handle operational transactions, vendor payments (advances and balances), and optimize fuel card usage.
• Work closely with commercial teams to prepare bids and respond to RFQs for major corporate clients including Reliance, Suzlon, and ONGC.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering).
• 5 to 10 years of significant experience in operations management within heavy asset logistics, ODC transport, or project cargo sectors.
• Expertise in GPS tracking technologies, route simulation software, and fleet optimization approaches.
• Strong knowledge of RTO regulations, heavy-duty crane operations, and Indian transport documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities especially in managing operational emergencies and resource shortages during live projects.
• Effective leadership and communication skills for managing varied field teams and liaising with executive management.

• Permanent full-time position based at the corporate office in Ahmedabad.
