Unusual Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm dedicated to supporting top enterprise software founders. We are seeking an Operating Partner to lead our Founder Services and Platform teams. This position demands a builder with managerial skills and coordination abilities who can oversee details, manage the team, and ensure timely, high-quality support to founders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations by leading the Founder Services and Platform teams, overseeing personnel, priority setting, and maintaining standards.
• Direct company resources including talent, go-to-market strategies, marketing, events, content, and customer introductions to best support founders.
• Provide hands-on assistance to founders at various stages, from pre-seed to Series B, helping with recruiting, market strategies, customer connections, storytelling, and media coverage.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop repeatable, high-quality programs for founder support and continuously enhance the firm's playbook.
• Elevate the standards of value-added venture assistance, emphasizing genuine impact over superficial efforts.

Required Qualifications and Traits

• Proven track record as an operator in enterprise software startups, preferably serving as Founder CEO or COO.
• Experience building and scaling companies with a clear understanding of meaningful growth versus noise.
• Expertise in constructing effective go-to-market and recruiting strategies and the ability to mentor founders authentically.
• Strong dedication to founder success, with the credibility to challenge and advise effectively.
• Leadership skills to drive execution and uplift the performance of team members.
• High standards paired with empathy, applying calm and structured problem-solving to complex challenges.
• Commitment to truth, clarity, and sustainable company growth.

Location and Compensation

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with flexibility to work from our Menlo Park or San Francisco office. Candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance to either location and support our founder network. Compensation is highly competitive reflecting the seniority of the position, including substantial upside linked to the firm's success.
