Role Overview

The role of Online Tutor demands delivering structured, interactive lessons to learners from Grades 3 through 9, emphasizing essential subjects, exam preparation, and foundational support. Responsibilities include designing lesson plans, creating personalized educational pathways, employing progress-monitoring tools, and providing tailored instruction in both one-on-one and small group formats. Maintaining inclusivity, regularly communicating with parents or guardians, updating student records, and collaborating with the management team to ensure uniformity and quality are also key parts of the position. This role requires working on-site full time in Kingston.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Deep understanding of core primary and early secondary subjects such as Mathematics, English, Critical Thinking, Reading, Science, and Social Studies, with expertise in PEP and/or CSEC Foundation preparation.
• Ability to design lessons aligned with curriculum standards, utilizing structured teaching methods suited for diverse learners.
• Skill in developing individualized learning plans and differentiating instruction to accommodate varied learning needs within an inclusive environment.
• Competency in employing digital educational tools for lesson delivery, academic tracking, and communication with students and families.
• Strong verbal and written communication, capable of clarifying concepts and nurturing learner confidence.
• Effective classroom management and facilitation skills for both individual and small group teaching settings.
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related discipline; formal education training in primary or early secondary education considered advantageous.
• Previous experience tutoring or teaching students from Grades 3 to 9, preferably in exam-focused or results-oriented settings.
• A strong commitment to student-centered and inclusive teaching practices alongside a passion for enhancing academic results.
• Dependability, professionalism, and availability to work full time on-site in Kingston.
