Network Infrastructure Engineer - Cisco Nexus Specialist

Role Summary

The Network Infrastructure Engineer will take responsibility for the stability, efficiency, and security of the enterprise network and data center architecture. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing network solutions tailored for multi-data center environments, while coordinating closely with internal IT departments and third-party vendors. Adherence to ITIL frameworks, proactive problem resolution, and accurate technical documentation are key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, Meraki SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi systems.
• Set up VLANs, static routing, and core networking functions within data center and enterprise network environments.
• Conduct thorough network diagnostics and root cause analysis, and maintain detailed system documentation.
• Manage firewall administration, preferably with Checkpoint systems, ensuring robust network security enforcement.
• Support and maintain storage infrastructure, such as SANs and distributed storage, across multiple data centers.
• Provide assistance with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere and possess familiarity with VMware Horizon VDI.
• Utilize tools such as PRTG for network and infrastructure performance monitoring to anticipate and resolve issues.
• Follow ITIL-based procedures for change and patch management.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to resolve network-related problems.
• Prepare clear documentation and communicate changes efficiently within the team.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Over six years of practical experience in enterprise networking environments.
• In-depth understanding of enterprise and data center network architectures.
• Proven hands-on expertise with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switch platforms.
• Experience managing Meraki SD-WAN and enterprise Wi-Fi deployments.
• Strong skills in VLAN setup and static routing.
• Advanced capabilities in network troubleshooting and root cause identification.
• Solid knowledge of network security fundamentals.
• Experience administering firewalls, with a preference for Checkpoint.
• Exposure to storage area network (SAN) and distributed storage technologies.
• Experience operating in multi-data center setups.
• Basic administration experience in VMware vSphere environments.
• Familiar with PRTG monitoring tools.
• Understanding of patch management cycles and processes.
