Role Overview
This position requires proficiency in Cisco technologies including routing, switching, and software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN). The engineer will be accountable for designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructure within campus and data center environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive high and low-level designs for routing and switching in diverse settings such as campuses and data centers.
- Architect, deploy, and fine-tune Cisco wireless solutions like Catalyst, Aruba, or Meraki, emphasizing controller-based systems.
- Design and implement Cisco SD-WAN Viptela solutions, managing templates, policies, and migration strategies.
- Manage configuration changes, network migrations, and new setups while adhering to change management protocols.
- Create standardized configuration templates, design patterns, and documentation to encourage consistency across multiple locations.
- Work in partnership with architecture, security, and operations teams ensuring that the network design meets standards for security, reliability, and performance.
- Plan and deploy enterprise-grade Wi-Fi networks, focusing on capacity for high-density usage.
- Utilize Cisco DNA Center tools for template design, automation, network assurance, and compliance in both wired and wireless environments.
- Build and sustain network automation scripts or playbooks using Python or Ansible to improve deployment and standardization activities.
- Offer expert technical inputs to project planning, estimation, and risk analysis phases.
- Facilitate design handover processes, including comprehensive documentation and knowledge sharing with operation and support teams.
