Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and highly organized Post Closer to join our mortgage operations team. The Post Closer will ensure that closed loan files are thoroughly reviewed for accuracy and completeness, meet compliance and investor requirements, manage collateral delivery, and support the smooth sale of mortgage loans. This role is vital in maintaining quality control to guarantee loans are compliant, marketable, and delivered on time according to investor expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine closed mortgage loan files to confirm accuracy, compliance, and completeness with relevant investor, regulatory, agency, and company standards.
• Prepare and deliver loan documentation to investors via designated delivery systems and portals.
• Investigate and resolve deficiencies and issues noted during post-closing or investor suspense review.
• Collaborate with multiple internal departments—including Underwriting, Processing, Closing, Funding, Accounting, Servicing, Title, and Escrow—and external investors to obtain needed documentation and correct discrepancies.
• Manage the transfer and tracking of original collateral documents to prospective purchasers.
• Monitor investor purchases and assist in reconciling any differences in funding or purchase records.
• Maintain consistency and data integrity between the loan origination system and investor delivery platforms.
• Support servicing transfers and conduct post-closing audits when necessary.
• Keep precise records and consistently meet established standards regarding productivity, quality, and turnaround times.
• Perform additional duties and special assignments as required.

Candidate Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional college coursework is a plus.
• At least two years’ experience within the mortgage industry.
• Experience in post-closing, funding, closing, processing, underwriting, or quality control is preferred.
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, and investor standards is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage closing documents and loan delivery procedures.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Encompass, and investor delivery platforms preferred.
• Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated workspace essential for remote work.

Compensation

The position offers a competitive hourly rate between 24 and 26 dollars based on experience.
